My Computer Is Running Slow, Why?

Or so you think. Let’s put ourselves in the virus writers shoes. Their goals are simple, infect as many machines as you can without anyone noticing. Most well written viruses will attack the antivirus software and disable it’s scanning ability while hiding the fact that it has done so. Your antivirus software will seem to function normally but is told to skip over the infected areas by the bug. Pretty smart right? The counter to this is to scan with at least one other antivirus program. If you can access the internet this is easy, if not, you may need to have it serviced. A few of my favourite online scanners are from Panda, NOD32/EST and Trend Micro’s house call, google their company name and online scan.
